Day 1 – Gateway Airport Home/Lisbon
Check in at Gateway Airport Home for a connection flight for Lisbon. Overnight on the flight.
Day 2 – Lisbon
Change the connection flight and arrive at Lisbon, capital of Portugal. You will be met at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to the hotel.
Day 3 – Lisbon
Full day city tour to explore Lisbon, begins with a scenic drive through the historical district of Lisbon and take you to Alfama, the oldest part of the city. Visit Jeronimos Monastery, the site of one of the most valuable
cloisters in the world, Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.
Day 4 – Lisbon/Obidos/Fatima/Coimbra
Bus journey to the quaint village of Obidos to see Casa das Mares. Visit the traditional Fishing Town of Nazare and the famous Monastery of Batalha. Head to Fatima, the largest place of pilgrimage in Portugal.
Day 5 – Coimbra/Porto
Explore the Baroque Library and St Michael’s Chapel at the Coimbra University, founded in 1291. Bus journey to Porto. Enjoy a panoramic tour through the city to the cathedral. Admire the magnificent Palacio de Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace). Sample the port wine during a visit to a port winery.
Day 6 – Porto/Guarda
Drive to discover the picturesque old town in the city of Guimaraes, the birth place of Portugal. Take a short stop in historical Lamego, to admire the pilgrimage church Senhora dos Remedios with its monumental staircase.
Day 7 – Guarda/Evora
Bus journey to travel south, where you can admire the unspoiled landscapes in the province of Alentjo. Stroll through the beautiful town of Castelo de Vide and visit the Medieval Synagogue there. Drive to the marble capital of Portugal Estremoz before arrive at Evora.
Day 8- Evora/Lisbon
Explore the city of Evora, and see the Roman Temple of Diana, the cathedral, the Church of St Francis with the famous Chapel of Bones, and Praca do Giraldo, the central square of the city. Drive through the plains of Alentejo, past cork and holm oak forests to Lisbon.
Day 9 – Lisbon/Gateway Airport Home
Fly by connection flight to Gateway Airport Home, where you will arrive on the same day.

I wanted to drop you a note to let you know that our Portugal Trip was absolutely amazing! You have found a great tour guide in Alcides Fortes (Al). He did a wonderful job and was very personable with our group. The group loved him! The breakfasts were great and lunches were fabulous! Al did a great job ensuring our group was well taken care of during our stay. The bus was beautiful and the bus drivers were all amazing as they navigated around some pretty narrow streets. The group also found out the J.K. Rowlings who wrote the Harry Potter Series lived in Porto from 1991 to 1993 and gained inspiration for her book series. In the evening, many in the group made it a point to visit a restaurant, the Café Majestic, one of Porto’s most exclusive cafés, that she frequented and wrote notes about her book series. Al also tried to get us into the bookstore that inspired the bookstore in the book series as well – Livraria Lello, an ornate bookshop in the heart of Porto that has been voted one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. The timing didn’t work out for the day so we were able to see the bookstore from the outside and get pictures. We also added at our own expense on our arrival day, a visit to the Oceanario de Lisboa, one of the best aquariums in the world. Overall, thank you for such a great trip! Your team did a stellar job.
